General English
A General English course focuses on general English topics (e.g. daily routine / work related / day to day life in UK / fashion / the weather) and language areas of: grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, writing, listening and speaking. It is for students who want to generally improve. It helps you improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, building your knowledge of vocabulary, grammar and structure.
By choosing the new General English + TELC option, you will be awarded the TELC (The European Language Certificate) qualification at the end of your course provided you pass the exam for your CEFR level.
TELC is a highly-regarded language test in the European Union, so your Certificate will be valuable proof of your language skills. The TELC exam is based on real communicative needs, so TELC exam preparation is part of our MyUkCollege General English course which focuses on real-world communication. Your certificate will feature your CEFR level, which is fast becoming the standard for assessing language ability.
Our in-house examiners are licensed for TELC dual-level exams, offering security for students on the boarder of two particular levels (e.g. B1/B2).
To sit the TELC exam you should study General English for at least four weeks. To achieve higher than your current CEFR level or ensure that you pass the exam, we recommend 12 weeks or more, depending on your confidence and ability.
